Commenting Partners Summary
Promotion readiness summary from each commenting partner
Robert views Jennifer as ready for promotion on the strength of her technical execution and ownership of complex workstreams. On the TechCo IPO she carried the registration statement from first draft through pricing with minimal partner revision, and consistently surfaced diligence issues before they reached the deal team. His one gating observation is client presence: he would like to see her lead more client calls directly in the coming period, but he considers this a matter of exposure rather than capability and supports advancement.
Susan regards Jennifer as operating at the level expected of a promotion candidate. She independently managed the Blue Harbor notes offering across the trustee, rating agencies, and the internal tax group, escalating only where partner judgment was genuinely required. Susan highlights the clarity and professionalism of her written client communications as a differentiator among her class, and notes no material development gaps standing in the way of promotion.
David considers Jennifer promotion-ready from a substantive standpoint, citing her handling of a complex Regulation S structure where she identified a settlement-mechanics timing issue that the underwriters had missed. He sees her analytical rigor as already at the senior level. His development note is that she should present her conclusions directly to clients rather than routing them through the partner first; with that shift, he expects her to be fully effective in a more senior client-facing role.
Maria supports promotion, pointing to Jennifer's reliability and judgment under pressure on a fast-moving liability management assignment, including turning around comments over a holiday weekend without follow-up. She rates Jennifer's escalation instincts as sound and her responsiveness as consistently dependable. Maria would encourage her to delegate more routine drafting to junior associates so she can operate at the level the next step requires.

Jennifer BloomSelf-Assessment Report
I give permission for my self-assessment to be shared with my partner advisor(s), if applicable to my office and practice group. If you choose to share this information, it will only be accessible to your individual advisor(s) for purposes of facilitating career development discussions.
YesWhat are your key accomplishments over this review period?
- I served as the primary drafting associate on the TechCo IPO from S-1 through pricing, and led day-to-day workstream management on the Blue Harbor notes offering, including direct coordination with the trustee and rating agencies. I also completed the firm's advanced negotiation training program.
What are your development goals for the next review period?
- I want to take a more visible role in client relationships – leading more calls directly rather than through the partner – and to build deeper expertise in cross-border offering structures. I'd also like to take on a small deal as the primary associate contact.
Describe your involvement in pro bono, recruiting, or firm citizenship activities.
- I served on the associate mentoring committee, paired with two summer associates during recruiting season, and handled a pro bono asylum matter that resulted in a successful outcome for the client.
What additional support or resources would help you grow?
- More structured opportunities to shadow partners on client pitches, and earlier staffing on deals so I can be involved from the structuring stage rather than joining once documents are underway.
Any other comments?
- I've enjoyed this review period and am grateful for the mentorship from the Capital Markets team. Looking forward to taking on more responsibility next year.
